NetFlixing: Silent Hill
Wow.
I'm sure I'm probably alone in this - I really don't know because I haven't bothered to take a look at what other people thought of the movie - but I really enjoyed this flick. It is probably the best movie I've seen from NetFlix.
So what's the deal? Well - here's how it goes down. Silent Hill is a town in the eastern United States (West Virginia, I think) that is abandoned. It's a total fucking ghost town. There is - apparently - a fire burning underneath the city. An abandoned coal mine or something.
It's a pretty similar story to that of Centralia, which is what caught my interest. So, I was set to watch the movie right there. I've always been interested in the idea of abandoned places. It's just fascinating to see how man-made objects decay. I love it.
There were scenes in this movie that really drove the decay home, and it totally drew me in.
Four "watch it, you pigfuckers!"
